#Vote2020: Support Black Men Running for Office in Minnesota

Have you voted yet? What are you waiting for ?

Voting is everyone's right!

The Black community needs to take action and vote for more Black politicians. It is time we get the right individuals to sit at the tables where political decisions are made about citizens' lives - this includes Black Lives!

Right now, the following Black Male candidates need your support, and we can do this together.  Do not forget to support Black Female candidates in MN too, click here.

The Fifth is a special district—with a rich diversity of people, experiences, and ideas. I believe we’re at our best when we incorporate all of our voices into collective action. We all deserve and should have access to affordable housing, quality healthcare, a living wage, safe neighborhoods, and clean air and water. I’ll be a fierce advocate for these issues and fight for equity for all of us.

I believe in the urgency of this moment to create a pathway for a better Minnesota and a better, more inclusive, future. This is our time to sew the precious fabric of humanity back together, fostering compassion, and encourage dialogue. Finding common ground to build upon will be the cornerstone of a sustained movement of forward progress.

Cedrick Frazier
House District 45A

My name is Cedrick Frazier. I live in the City of New Hope with my wife Stephanie, our three daughters and our family dog, named Puckett. From a young age, I learned the importance of service from my grandfather. I watched him contribute to his community through annual back-to-school barbecues that he would help coordinate as a leader in his Masonic organization. I looked up to him as a kid, I was always eager to help him handout backpacks and school supplies. I also saw my grandfather serve when he stepped up and got elected president of his local labor union, at a paint manufacturer. Seeing him lead was inspiring. It showed me the importance of organizing and advocacy. These early lessons have propelled me throughout my life and career. I have remained community focused and service oriented. That focus has led me to the decision to step up and run for the House seat in District 45A which covers parts of the cities of New Hope, Crystal, and Plymouth.

I am John Thompson, a long time resident of the Eastside of Saint Paul. My family and I come from humble beginnings. I built a career working for Saint Paul Public Schools as a machinist/equipment repair technician. My family and I have always worked hard and kept to ourselves until the day my friend and co-worker Philando Castile was shot and killed during a traffic stop. At that moment, I knew that I could no longer remain silent.
